At WVU Medicine / Thomas Hospital. I’ve been in the nursing profession for 18 years on OB. I am married with 2 children and a baby grand daughter. I am also an amputee for 17 years now AND a breast cancer warrior. My purpose is to be a right for others as others have helped light my way.

In March 2018, my life turned upside down with one phone call and three words: metastatic breast cancer. Months before my diagnosis, I was physically strong and had just taken the leap to become a business owner. Since then, cancer and its treatment have taken me on a roller coaster of more than eight years of uncertainty, pain, survivor’s guilt, and a frankly ridiculous number of medical appointments and needle jabs.

I am Patricia “Patty” Rosebourgh, a native West Virginian and Charlestonian from South Hills. I am a graduate of George Washington High School and hold two degrees from Howard University, as well as graduate hours from WVU Tech. I am a published author, retired educator, and accomplished actor.

I need to say – I’m proud of me. I have come a long way and I have finally found my footing. It’s been a crazy journey, but I am grateful for all I have accomplished and loving who I am becoming. I’m blessed and I am thriving. I can’t complain. Currently I am processing my second round of my breast cancer journey.

I was initially diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer in 2003, while pregnant with my daughter, Hannah. 23 years later, and Stage IV since 2013, I am still going strong. One thing I can tell you for sure is that the most important thing that you can do for yourself is to advocate! Know your treatment, discuss your options, and don't be afraid to get other opinions. Jean lives in southern WV with her husband, Joe, who is her biggest hype man.
