Each year, the West Virginia Breast Health Initiative, Inc. hosts the Race for the Ribbon, a powerful community event that raises vital funds for breast cancer education, early detection, treatment assistance, and support services for individuals and families facing this life-changing diagnosis. The 2026 Race for the Ribbon will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, bringing together survivors, caregivers, healthcare advocates, volunteers, and local businesses in a shared mission of hope.
Breast cancer does not discriminate. It affects mothers, daughters, sisters, friends—and men—often when they least expect it. The resources funded through this event help ensure that people across West Virginia have access to lifesaving screenings, education, and compassionate support when they need it most. Simply put, these funds save lives.
